The Lilly Grant Office is aware of the growing need for support. Many more requests are received than can be funded and we regret that we cannot accommodate every request.

You can be assured that your request will receive a fair review. In return, please take the time to consider how your program fits within the guidelines before a request is submitted.

The Lilly Grant Office has automated the grant request process to an online tool - the Lilly Grant Office online grant application and management portal. The process now includes:

  • Online organization registration and login
  • Submission of grant requests and required supporting documentation online
  • Summary page for grant activity and application status

Before accessing our online grant application and management portal, please review the information below regarding registration, required documentation, and application review timing and decision notification. Also note, requests originating outside the U.S. for country-specific programs can NOT use this website. Please contact the Lilly office in your country.

Organization Registration and Login

Each requesting organization must create a login and registration before submitting a grant request. Registration involves providing information about your organization, contact names and numbers, and submitting copies of required tax and other applicable forms. All required documents are uploaded directly into the system and must be in a PDF format not exceeding a 1 mb file size.

Requesting organizations will be required to accept all terms and conditions of the grant application process.

Any organization found to be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individual/Entities (OIG LEIE) or the General Services Administration Excluded Parties List System (GSA EPLS) will not be allowed to register or submit grant applications.

Successful registrations will receive email confirmation with 2 business days.

Required Registration Documentation

Documents required for organization registration include:

Grant Request Submission

For a grant request to be submitted and considered for funding, you must complete the online application and submit the following documents:

  • Program detail, including a description of how the funding will be used
  • Detailed line item budget
  • Program agenda
  • Learning objectives

Failure to provide this completed information at least 30 days prior to the event date will result in the request not being processed.

We will accept grant applications for the current calendar year during the months of January through November. We will accept grant applications for the next calendar year during the months of October through December of the current calendar year. We will not accept grant applications after the event date is past.

Grant Review

The LGO will use its best efforts to provide a decision to you as quickly as possible and in less than forty-five (45) days after the receipt of all required documentation. However, please be advised of the following:

  • It may require up to forty-five (45) days to review and process your application once all of the necessary documentation is submitted to the LGO. You can assist with minimizing the review timeline by providing complete and accurate documentation in a timely manner. (see above "Required Registration Documentation ")
  • If your program is scheduled to take place within less than forty-five (45) days of your submission of all necessary documentation to the LGO, the LGO may not be able to provide a decision prior to the date of the program. Subsequently, you may want to reconsider submitting a grant request to the LGO and pursue funding from a source other than Lilly.
  • If the LGO does not receive all necessary documentation at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of your program, the LGO cannot accept your grant request for consideration.

Grant Status

  • You may check the status of all your grant requests by logging into the online application portal and navigating to your organization’s Welcome page.
  • For any requests not submitted via the online application portal, you may check the status by contacting the Lilly Grant Office via email at grantinfo@lillygrantoffice.com or at 1-877-545-5946 (877-LillyGO) domestic U.S. or 1-269-226-2738 international.
  • In keeping with the spirit of the U.S. OIG guidance, your Lilly contact will not have access to this information.
  • You will receive written notification from the LGO of the grant committee’s decision. Please note, if you submitted an application 4-6 weeks prior to the date of your event, your notification of approval or denial may be received close to the date of the event.
  • Please do not consider any request approved until you have received written documentation from the LGO approving your grant request.
